Some results
I played 6 tournaments today and did ok. The results weren't stellar but I thought I played pretty well.
1) $20+2 Multi on Party -- ended up getting a stack together and finishing up in 75th out of 700 or so (70 paid). My downfall consisted of me running 99 into the AA of an active player.
2) $3+R ($10K Gtd.) on Stars -- ended up in 131st out of ~1400 for $31. I was insanely card-dead for most of this tourney and it was all I could do to stay alive as long as I did. I ended up getting all my chips in with T5o vs. KTo in blind vs. blind.
3) $5+R ($15K Gtd.) on Party -- ended up in 18th out of ~1500 for $210. I was actually pretty dead in this, but I hung tough and scraped along the entire time. Basically, I did a bunch of stealing, finally got myself to around par when I picked up AJs over another short stack's ATs (850K when the average was 1M), then donked off all my chips with AT vs. AA on a T-high flop. It sucks to play a bunch of solid poker then go broke in a spot where I really had enough information to get away from it. Live and learn, I guess.
4) $20+2 ($40K Gtd.) on Party -- went broke really quick in this one. I almost doubled on the 3rd hand when I check-raised for all my chips with Kc9c on a Ad7c8c6h board and got 2 people to fold. Then I got 75BBs(!!!) in a few hands later with KK vs. ATo and lost, then got another 75BBs in with Kc3h vs. JsTd on a Tc9c3c flop (same guy with ATo) and lost that too. Oh yes, this same guy called an open-jam of ~50BBs with KJo and beat the other guy's ATs. Enjoy it while it lasts, buddy.
5) $10+R ($55K Gtd.) on Stars -- got like 8K in chips just before the break, but decided to quit after I check-raised all-in with Ah5h vs. AKo on a 7h7dKh board and whiffed.
6) $15+1 WSOP double shootout on Stars -- got 2nd at my first table. This one was kind of fun. I got heads up and was down 1800 to 10200. I ended up getting the other guy down to about 1200, but he fought back to about even. On the final hand, I got about 1/2 my chips in with AA before the river on the Jd8d5c3h3s board. He raised all in on the river and I really put him on a busted draw. I was kind of right, but he had 6d3d for the runner-runner trips and I was broke.
I then played a couple laps of $2/$4 6-max and won $10. I'm watching the 2004 WSOP TOC right now. I thought this was the 2005 TOC, but maybe that hasn't aired yet. Anybody know?
