The Return of the Blog
Due to several requests, I am going to return to blogging about my poker life. Honestly, I didn't think anyone cared one way or another. But if the people want it, the people get it!
I guess it has been about 6 months since my last blog entry. Since then, I have played a ton of poker. I finished my MS degree during the spring quarter of this year and basically haven't done any school work since then. I decided that I wanted to play poker during the summer and just bum around for a while instead of being worried about school.
Since I stopped school at around the beginning of May, I have played about 200k hands of 100nl. Without going into too much detail, I'd say things are going pretty well for me as a professional player. I'm still playing tiny limits but I am sort of crushing the games to make myself a good living. I plan on moving up to higher limits eventually, but for now I am just building a bankroll and savings account. As I see it, I need to have 6 months living expenses set aside for my wife and I before I can consider myself bankrolled for any game. Hence I am still playing the lowest limits I can think of to make a decent amount of money.
Once I have the bankroll (hopefully within the next month or 2), I will be moving up to bigger games and hopefully bigger wins. That's about all I want to say for now, so I'll just leave you with a few hands from the last couple of days.

nice hand mikey, that was sick.
Explain that first hand. Must have been some kind of read there.
That 2nd hand was crazy.
The guy instantly made the huge overbet on the river once I checked it to him. The rest of his line looked like a draw and his river play is consistent with a busted draw.
Most people need to think for a little while about how much and whether to bet medium strength hands on this river, so I figured him for a monster or a busted draw. The insta-bet sealed the deal on it being a busted draw.
Also, I had won some pots off him earlier and I felt like he was going to be wanting to put a play on me soon.
